Stanley Park, Vancouver's first urban park, is a 405-hectare (1,001-acre) public park that occupies the northwestern half of Vancouver's downtown peninsula. Surrounded by the waters of Burrard Inlet and English Bay, it borders the West End and Coal Harbour neighborhoods to the southeast. The park connects to the North Shore via the Lions Gate Bridge.
Inside the park is a natural West Coast rainforest, the Vancouver Aquarium, and the famous Seawall. The park's easternmost point has the historic lighthouse on Brockton Point.
Stanley Park is larger than New York City's Central Park (340 hectares / 840 acres), but about half the size of London's Richmond Park (960 hectares / 2,360 acres).
