Namiseom, or Nami Island, is a half-moon shaped island in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, South Korea. It was created in 1944 when the Bukhan River rose due to the construction of the Cheongpyeong Dam, flooding the surrounding land. Known for its tree-lined paths and gardens, Nami Island gained fame after being featured in the Korean drama 'Winter Sonata' and is a popular destination near Seoul.
