High Park is a municipal park in Toronto, Ontario, offering a mix of recreation and nature. Opened to the public in 1876, the park is based on a land donation from John George Howard to the City of Toronto. At 161 hectares, it's one of Toronto's largest parks. About a third of it is preserved as a rare oak savannah. High Park also features gardens, sporting and cultural facilities, a zoo, and playgrounds. It's especially well-known for its cherry blossoms in the spring and Grenadier Pond.
