Central Park is an 843-acre park in Manhattan between the Upper West and Upper East Sides. It's the first landscaped park in the United States and the sixth-largest park in New York City. As the most visited urban park in the country, it draws an estimated 42 million visitors each year.
Owned by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, Central Park has been managed since 1998 by the Central Park Conservancy, a non-profit organization. The Conservancy operates the park and is responsible for its care. Popular features include Bethesda Fountain, the Central Park Zoo, Strawberry Fields, and the Great Lawn.
